The cable cleat serves as a way to help tidy excess cable mess. Allowing users to manage space properly, as well as keeping areas around sockets safe (as things and people can easily get caught on cables).

As part of a project where I had to go out and observe the everyday “goings on” around London’s markets. From our observations, identify a problem and create a product for market retailers, as well as anyone else this product could benefit.

Inspiration for the idea came about when I kept seeing so many cables and hoses lying about, especially visiting food retailers (where power is vital for their business).

At the end of the cleat arms turn back on themselves forming a hook, this to stop any cable from unravelling.

The arms are angled so that they don’t interfere with the cable exit of the plug as well as the on/off switch on the wall socket.
